Safety Showers
Safety showers, also known as emergency showers, drench showers or decontamination showers, are used in hazardous working environments such as laboratories, factories and chemical plants and are designed to thoroughly drench the user’s head and body with water during emergency situations in which they have come into contact with hazardous or corrosive chemicals. When used correctly, safety showers can help mitigate or prevent burns, scarring, serious injury, or even death.
Safety Showers
All of our emergency shower units come complete with a built-in testing tag. Weekly functional testing is a requirement of the ANSI Z358.1 regulations and must be carried out by an authorised person in order to achieve compliance. Fully waterproof to protect your records, each testing tag has a section for the date and the name of testing personnel.
Due to the high water pressure delivered by our safety showers, they are not appropriate for eye washing; however, you will be pleased to learn that we also carry a range of ANSI-certified eye wash products that are specifically designed for this purpose. Please visit the eye wash stations page to find out more.
Read our users guide on safety showers or purchase an emergency shower below from our extensive stock.
Many of our safety showers can also be customised with the addition of a drench hose. Drench hoses allow the user to direct a stream of water to a specific exposure site; see individual product pages for details.
Wall mounted safety showers
Wall mounting offers excellent stability and ease of installation; however, since ANSI regulations state that emergency shower units must be located no more than a ten second walk away from hazardous areas, they are best suited to smaller workplaces.
Our range of wall mounted decontamination showers includes the following products:
Economy wall mounted safety shower with ABS plastic shower head
Wall mounted safety shower with stainless steel shower head
All stainless steel wall mounted safety shower
Ceiling mounted safety showers
Vertical mounting allows for greater flexibility in terms of placement compared to wall mounting. This makes ceiling mounted units perfect for larger workspaces, although installation can be a little trickier.
We are proud to offer the following ceiling mounted drench showers:
Basic ceiling mounted emergency shower with ABS plastic shower head
Ceiling mounted emergency shower with stainless steel shower head
Freestanding safety showers
Freestanding safety showers (also known as column showers) are the most versatile emergency showers in our range. They require a little more room than wall and ceiling mounted shower, owing to their exposed pipework, but the fact that they are mounted to the floor gives you the freedom to install them wherever they are needed most. This makes them ideal for large facilities with high ceilings and multiple danger hotspots.
Our emergency column shower range includes:
Economy freestanding drench shower with shower head in ABS plastic
Freestanding drench shower with showerhead in stainless steel
Combination units
A combined safety shower and eyewash unit is a cost-effective, all-in-one workplace safety solution that can help you save space in your workplace. Bringing together an emergency shower and an eye wash station into a single unit allows you to save money and installation time without compromising on safety.
